Evie Martinez

  • Evie (Eva) Martinez is deeply passionate about supporting individuals, couples, and families as they navigate life's most profound transitions and heal from generational trauma.  Operating from a highly collaborative, relational, and systemic perspective, Evie approaches therapy with an ethnographic and trauma-informed lens. She believes that healing occurs when we look beyond the individual in a vacuum and instead nurture the relational and cultural contexts of our lives, empowering clients to reclaim their agency and become the true authors of their own stories.

Evie is currently a Doctoral student pursuing her PhD at the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant University.  She integrates Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), EMDR, Narrative Therapy, and attachment-based frameworks to help clients break repetitive, unhelpful cycles and build secure connections.  Her clinical and research interests are heavily focused on maternal, perinatal, and postpartum mental health, parent-child attachment dynamics, and utilizing interventions like EMDR and brain spotting to resolve generational trauma.

Prior to her clinical work, Evie spent years as a preclinical researcher investigating the neurobiological and epigenetic effects of stress, pain, and addiction. This background gives her a unique, scientifically grounded understanding of how trauma impacts the nervous system and the mind-body connection. Additionally, her extensive training as an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) equips her with practical, hands-on experience supporting expectant and postpartum parents during times of profound transition. Evie brings immense empathy, cultural attunement, and lived wisdom regarding the complex intersections of physical health, identity, and relational boundaries to her clinical practice.

Outside of the therapy room, Evie values spending time with her family exploring the small wonders of the world with her children.
